No. I guess some of the sources of this idea at least in the UK come from assessments of gaps in achievement between boys and girls in certain aspects of the UK schooling system. I believe this is fairly widely attributed to social and societal issues, particularly in certain sub-sections of communities. I’ve seen no evidence whatever to suggest there is a real difference and from a Neuroscience perspective wouldn’t expect to. There are, however, very real differences in brain structure (and presumably function) between male and female brains that have been used to suggest biases in aptitudes between the sexes.
