Education:
1st year Primary school in Brazil (Rio), 2nd Year in Punda del Este (Uruguay), then back to Brazil where I lived for a while and started highschool that I completed with one year in Spain in between and last two years in Rome, Italy where I did the Scientific Liceum (Maturita Scientifica)

Qualifications:
I got my degree on Biological Sciences from the Univeristy of Rome, Italy (1999) and my PhD in evolutionary biology and Animal Ecology from the University of Leiden (Netherlands) in 2003

Work History:
Between my PhD, two postdocs, field work trips and my previous job at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI) I worked in several places: Rome (IT), Leiden (NL), Lyon, Cote d’Azur (F), Zurich (CH), Mwanza (TZ), Algarve (PT), Cambridge and Norwich (UK) and who knows where next…

Current Job:
I lead the 361° Division (on Scientific Training, Education and Learning) and I am part of the Institute Senior Management Team.

My Typical Day:
mug of coffee, lots of meetings with great people, enthusiasm and puzzling questions.

What I'd do with the prize money:
I’ll use it to make some funky video’s about what we do and addressing the questions and discussion that came out from this forum (and a doodle book too ;-))

passionate, joyful and determined.

ehm, sometimes…
Who is your favourite singer or band?
I love music, eclectic music taste from Foo Figthers, to Pharrel Williams, Guetta and Vivaldi.
What's your favourite food?
Italian! I love pizza, pasta and gelato (stracciatella).
If you had 3 wishes for yourself what would they be? - be honest!
to stay healthy, to be a good mum and to have a house with lots of land for animals
