• Question: how do some people get depressed?

      Could be because some horrible event happened (someone died, etc) and they need time to deal with it. They can get well without medication, just talking to someone, better an expert. Also could be because of they way the chemicals in their brain is composed so in that case they need to take some medication so they can feel better

      Generally it’s a concatenation of bad events and disappointments.
      When you put all your hopes into something or someone and then it doesn’t work – you feel like it was all for nothing, you feel like your life has no sense and maybe it’s best to just give up.
      This can be amplified by substance abuse and negative thoughts.

      Best thing to do is to have a change of environment. Go on holiday, see friends and focus on positive thoughts. Most depressive states are not permanent.
